Network Editor

The CYME Network Editor is one of the most user friendly and powerful engineering tools available on the market today.

Key features include:

  • Display options to customize the single line diagram, reports and results tags with keywords
  • Nested networks
  • Extensive database of equipment
  • Electrical equipment parameter estimation functions including transmission line and cable positive and zero sequence impedance calculation

CYMFLOW, Power Flow

CYMFLOW is the main analysis module of CYME 5.0 and has a seamless interface with all other modules.

  • Equipped with powerful analytical options and multiple solution algorithms
  • Modeling of all types of electronically coupled co-generation such as wind turbines, photovoltaic cells, fuel cells and micro-turbines

CYMFAULT, Short Circuit

CYMFAULT adheres to International IEC-60909© guidelines and North American ANSI® C37.5, ANSI® C37.010, ANSI® C37.13 standards. It also supports conventional short-circuit studies (LLL, LL, LL-G, L-G) without reference to any particular standards.

  • Arcing faults with user defined impedance shunt faults
  • Automated sliding fault option on a transmission line and/or cable
  • System wide voltage, current and rotating machine contribution
  • IEC short circuit duty studies with automatic equipment impedance correction factors and appropriate R/X ratios applied as per IEC standards
  • ANSI® short-circuit duty studies with automatic selection of motor Sub-transient reactance multipliers as dictated by the ANSI® standard

Dynamic Motor Starting

The Dynamic Motor Starting Analysis analysis module is dedicated to simulating the effects of induction and synchronous motor starting in three-phase electric power systems.

  • Direct on line or assisted induction and synchronous motor starting
  • User-defined mechanical load torque representation. Typical mechanical loads such as pumps, blowers, fans, feed drive and conveyer belts are also included
  • Motor equivalent circuit parameter estimation from name plate data

CYMSTAB, Transient Stability

CYMSTAB is the transient stability dedicated to simulating electromechanical transients in power systems. It features the capability to include user-defined controls, a very flexible user-interface; and powerful graphics.

  • Step response of controllers
  • Multiple event scenarios
  • Voltage and frequency relay operated breakers
  • Extensive control model library as per published IEEE® transactions and papers
  • Dynamic modeling of co-generation facilities with a detailed grid side converter model for wind turbines, photovoltaic cells, fuel cells and micro turbines.

CYMHARMO, Harmonic Analysis

CYMHARMO features a number of analyses, including frequency scan, voltage distortion and current distortion calculations on balanced and unbalanced systems; and covers both single phase and full three-phase modeling capabilities. The Frequency scan capability included in this module is also available as an independent module.

  • Phase or sequence analysis, harmonic cancelation, system detuning and sensitivity analysis
  • Extensive equipment library of harmonic generating sources
