2012 Fifth Light Technolgy, Ltd. was acquired by Cooper Industries.
2010 ALC Lighting Controls was acquired by Cooper Industries.
2007 Cooper Controls began conducting business in North America as a business unit under Cooper Industries. The acquisitions of Novitas, Inc, Polaron plc and PCI are the initial building blocks towards a truly global lighting controls company focused on manufacturing high quality, innovative, easy to use products designed for the 21st century.

Novitas, Inc was acquired by Cooper Industries.
2005
ControlKeeper 4A is introduced. The CK4A provides a fully adjustable daylight harvesting dimming lighting control system will full logging of all events thereby allowing for full customization to fit the specific application.
2004
Polaron plc strengthens its position as a leading European lighting controls company with the addition of the iLight Group. The iLight group consists of, iLight ltd, specializing in architectural lighting controls, and Zero 88 Lighting Ltd, specializing in theatrical lighting controls.

Novitas invents MicroSet fully automatic sensors. The first self adjusting, non user adjustable occupancy sensor on the market. They set themselves automatically for optimum performance. Adjustments to accommodate occupant behavior and environmental conditions are made automatically and immediately to ensure user satisfaction. No learning period is required.
1997
Ethernet control via PCI Windows platform enabled "all" controllers to be remotely programmed and accessed via the Internet.
1991
Novitas invents the first automatic wall switch which gives the user the option to select "automatic on" for maximum convenience or "manual on" for maximum savings. After thorough circuit development and use testing, it is introduced in 1993.
1990
PCI begins the industry sweeping change of warranting relays for 10 years.
1990
LiteKeeper is introduced, it is a stand-alone “easy to program” lighting controller.
1987
Novitas introduces the Switchpack which eliminates the need for separate transformers and relays.
1982
National Energy was purchased by the Desmonds and the name changed to PowerLine Communications, later known as PCI.
1977
Novitas invents and produces the first occupancy sensor for lighting control. The first customer is Bell of Pennsylvania.
